Role with us: David leads the development of the Scorpio business in the United States and is responsible for US client insight. He is actively involved in research programmes that connect client experience to wealth management key performance indicators.
Background: David has 15 years of market research experience and joined Scorpio from J.D. Power and Associates where he was responsible for the financial services practice.
Education: David completed a degree in business at Central Michigan University and received a MBA from Oakland University.
And at the weekends: David spends time thinking of new and easier ways to explain to his family what exactly he does for a living.
Role with us: Caroline is responsible for the execution of assignments drawing on her detailed market and business management experience in the private banking industry over 23 years. Her project work has covered a diverse range of assignments across the globe, including the client experience, competitor and market analysis, investment propositions, the trust industry and the use of technology within wealth management.
Background: Formerly a senior private banker with Credit Suisse in London, Caroline has comprehensive business management experience gained as Head of International Private Clients in the London office and an in-depth knowledge of the international private banking environment. Prior to this, she gained specialist expertise in the Middle East market as Head of Middle East private clients, having lived and worked in the region.
And at the weekends: Caroline’s time is stretched through flexing her management and negotiating skills with her three children and chauffeuring them to their various social and sporting activities. In her spare time (?) her interests used to focus on travelling, photography and the equestrian world.
Role with us: Mark is globally responsible for the Scorpio wealth consulting business and also is the Head of the McLagan Wealth Management & Private Banking practice in Europe. He leads the development and delivery of market leading business performance consulting, leveraging the firm's proprietary data and analysis of Client Experience, Pay & Productivity, and Talent to deliver unmatched insight and actionable advice.
Background: With over twenty years of Financial Services industry experience, Mark has acquired comprehensive knowledge focused on the Private Banking and Wealth Management sector.
Education: Mark holds a Masters (MEng) in the Manufacturing Engineering Tripos (MET) from St John's College, Cambridge University, and completed an Accelerated Development Programme at London Business School.
And at the weekends: His three young kids are forcing him to trade mountains for gardening and wine (not necessarily at the same time).
Role with us: As well as running the wealth management practice at McLagan for Asia Pacific, Pathik is actively engaged in the relationship management, research and delivery of projects with Scorpio’s numerous Asian clients.
Background: Prior to joining McLagan, Pathik was a member of the Private Banking division at Credit Suisse where he held roles in product sales and development as well as business management. He has also previously worked at KPMG and Boston Consulting Group.
Education: Pathik graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and went on to pursue his MS from Singapore MIT Alliance. He also holds an MBA from INSEAD.
And at the weekends: Pathik serves as a District Councillor for Southwest Community Development Council, a quasi-government body aimed at building and supporting VWOs which serve more than one million residents in south west Singapore.
Role with us: Annie works on the research team at Scorpio and leads projects with a marketing and market insight focus. She runs the Futurewealth insight programme, a research and thought leadership initiative on the needs of the global HNW.
Background: During her time at Scorpio, she has completed a range of assignments for family offices, wealth managers and private banks, as well as a number of internal marketing projects.
Education: Her passion for research was cultivated while undertaking a Master’s degree in History from Durham University with a special focus on the early modern period.
And at the weekends: Annie enjoys hunting out London’s weirdest culture; ranging from crawfish boils to poetry slams, stand-up comedy to gin tasting. She is also a sports fan and plays netball every week.
Role with us: Alex has been with Scorpio Partnership for over three years; he sits on in the analytics team at Scorpio Partnership but is regularly involved in HNW proposition research and development. Alex is also heavily involved client experience/satisfaction programmes which Scorpio Partnership runs globally for wealth institutions.
Background: Alex comes from a financial, technology and business management background but has refocused on the wealth sector over his time at Scorpio Partnership.
Education: Alex studied Business Management in Canada at the University of Western Ontario as well as Business Enterprise and IT Management at the University of Chichester in England.
And at the weekends: His hobbies have been described on occasion as “eclectic” and on any given evening he is likely to be found either searching for whiskey to add to his collection, watching big budget Hollywood action movies or practicing for chess-boxing events.
Role with us: Tasha is a recent addition to Scorpio Partnership and sits within the research team, where she will be focussing on High Net Worth proposition development and leading some of our global thought leadership initiatives.
Background: Prior to joining the Scorpio team, Tasha worked at FreshMinds, an award-winning insight and innovation consultancy, for nearly five years within the Financial and Professional Services team. During her time at FreshMinds, Tasha supported a range of clients – from financial providers to technology consultancies – to develop growth strategies focussed on getting closer to their customers.
Education: Tasha is a politics aficionada and has a Master’s degree in EU governance from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from Keble College, Oxford.
And at the weekends: She can be found brunching somewhere in London, watching Frasier re-runs, trying to motivate herself to go for a run or doing a spot of campaigning. She’s also learning Spanish but finds that the idioms are often her downfall.
Role with us: Joseph supports global wealth managers on a wide range of initiatives relating to key performance indicators and client engagement. Based in New York, Joseph is also actively developing Scorpio’s business and capabilities in the United States.
Background: Joseph joined McLagan in 2013 where he was responsible for data management and analytics relating to wealth management performance and reward. Joseph acted as the primary relationship manager for a number of wealth institutions and has worked closely with U.S. private banks, brokerages and family offices. Since joining the Scorpio team full-time in 2015, Joseph is focused on the linkages between performance, reward, and client insight.
Education: Joseph graduated from New York University’s College of Arts & Science with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and a minor in Economics.
And at the weekends: Joseph can be found cooking meals that are way too big in a kitchen that is way too small. He enjoys scouring New York for high quality ingredients, taking in new neighbourhoods and culture as he goes.
Role with us: Hubert divides his time between analytical side of projects and HNW insight work. Recently, he has been actively involved with the analytics and creation of Scorpio’s flagship Global Private Banking Benchmark report, as well as the Wealth Management M&A Deal Tracker.
Background: Hubert joined Scorpio Partnership from a financial analysis orientated background in 2013. He has experienced a breadth of work since joining over a year and half ago and finds his enjoyment from the flexible and distinctive nature to client project work.
Education: Hubert holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Leeds in Business and Financial Economics. He is also furthering his study with industry specific qualifications.
And at the weekends: Hubert has never been known to take his sport too seriously, managing the Scorpio betting racket in regular office sweepstakes. Alternatively, when he isn’t hunting down 15 men on the rugby field, he enjoys the leather ball game in the summer months as well as chasing shadows around a squash court.
Role with us: Nik is engaged with project management, analytics and reporting across a multiple of client satisfaction, engagement and Thought Leadership insight work. Recently, he has been involved in assisting Pathik Gupta in the continuous development and execution of Scorpio’s business and capabilities in the APAC region.
Background: Nik joined Scorpio from the investment team of a private family office in 2014 where he was specialising in delivering global portfolios for families, private clients, trusts and charities. Since joining, he has particularly enjoyed the prospect of identifying the dynamic trends within our industry while continuing to grow his knowledge on the wider wealth industry.
Education: Nik graduated from the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) having pursued a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics.
And at the weekends: He has an obsessive passion for food from fine dining to street markets and roadside vendors (particularly those in foreign countries). A follower of almost all major sports from NHL to international test cricket but yet to still see his favourite team play live. A self-proclaimed ‘soon-to-be’ adventurer as he continuously convinces himself that he will find the time to roam the world.
Role with us: Val is mainly involved in HNW client engagement research. Additionally, she actively supports thought leadership programmes and manages the annual production of Scorpio Partnership's Global Private Banking Benchmark report.
Background: Originally from Siberia, Valeriya moved to London to pursue her education. Having worked for Scorpio part-time during her studies, she joined as a permanent member of staff in 2014.
Education: Valeriya holds a Master’s degree in Global Banking and Finance from the European Business School, London, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
And at the weekends: Val enjoys knitting and reading.
Role with us: Ben is heavily involved with the data analytics team delivering quantitative research on a range of client projects for private banks and wealth managers.
Background: Before entering the wealth sector, Ben previously worked as a market analyst at a financial news firm providing insight across a range of asset classes.
Education: Ben completed a Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the University of Edinburgh and a Master’s degree in International Finance from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
And at the weekends: Ben tries his hand at different racket sports with varying degrees of success and enjoys quenching his thirst afterwards with craft beer.
Role with us: A recent addition to Scorpio Partnership, Jenny focuses on strategic client engagement projects as well as writing cutting edge thought leadership pieces.
Background: Prior to joining the Scorpio team, Jenny worked at UBS Investment Bank in New York as well as FreshMinds, an insight and innovation consultancy in London. She has worked across a wide range of innovative financial services projects.
Education: Jenny holds a BSc in Economics and International Development from the University of Bath and a PGC in International Business from the University of Chester.
And at the weekends: Jenny is usually outdoors – playing racquet sports, hiking, skiing, or partaking in some kind of sporting activity alongside pondering her next big holiday and/or living out her favourite inspirational quotes.
Role with us: Ruohan joined Scorpio on the graduate scheme. She works on a variety of projects and has recently conducted quantitative research analysis for thought leadership initiatives and client experience surveys.
Background: Ruohan was born in China, raised in Canada and is now living in the UK and speaks English, Chinese and French. Previously when studying in Canada she co-founded the China-Canada Junior Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit platform connecting like-minded young people in order to enhance the bilateral relationship between the two countries, where she planned events and oversaw internal operations.
Education: Ruohan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Joint Honours Economics and Finance from McGill University.
And at the weekends: Ruohan enjoys playing the piano and looking out for anything Canadian-related in London. She also spends a lot of time teaching people how to pronounce her name and sitting through countless Lord of the Rings references.
Role with us: Laura is engaged in qualitative research projects, where she leverages deep insight into client needs and expectations to create innovative thought leadership reports, actionable business development plans and marketing strategies.
Background: Holding both Italian and American citizenship, Laura grew up in Paris, and works in Scorpio's London office. She speaks English, Italian, French and Spanish fluently. Beginning with this personal experience, and furthered by her university studies, she has developed an avid appreciation of multi-cultural imperatives and understanding, which she applies to her work at Scorpio.
Education: Laura holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Bristol where she also founded the university's Women in Leadership Society. She completed a year abroad at McGill University in Canada, studying Organizational Behaviour and Marketing.
And at the weekends: Laura can be found wandering around the city, trying to get to know London. Her objective: tracking down the best street markets, where she hunts for ingredients to pursue her determined belief that gourmet cooking is in her DNA (after all, she is Italian). However, this has not always proven to be the case.
Role with us: Denisa joined Scorpio on the graduate scheme. She provides support on a range of client experience and thought leadership projects.
Background: Originally from Slovakia, Denisa completed her studies in the Netherlands before moving to the UK. She speaks English, German and Slovakian fluently. She joined Scorpio after completing various internships including at RBS and the British Embassy.
Education: Denisa holds a Joint Master's degree in International Business from Rotterdam Erasmus University and completed her Bachelor's degree at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. During her studies she had the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at TEC de Monterey University in Mexico as well as at UCD Business School in Dublin.
And at the weekends: Denisa likes to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and go hiking or cycling. She also enjoys anything that involves music, and is always looking for an opportunity to go ballroom dancing (or any dancing really!).
Role with us: Nabil is a recent addition to the Scorpio team and is highly involved in market analysis and client experience projects.
Background: Prior to joining Scorpio in 2016, Nabil worked as an Associate Economist at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. He has also worked as an analyst at a commodities research and consultancy group.
Education: Nabil holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics, as well as a Master’s degree from King’s College London.
And at the weekends: In his spare time, Nabil enjoys attending music festivals, exploring new European cities when the opportunity arises, and hoping that Liverpool FC pick up three points every weekend.
Role with us: Elizabeth recently joined the team as a Graduate Analyst. She is engaged in numerous client experience projects, brand tracker work and internal marketing strategy initiatives.
Background: Elizabeth was born in London and raised in Nigeria before returning to the UK for her studies. Before embarking on the graduate scheme, Elizabeth undertook various summer internships at Rothschild & Co, Linguist Translation Services in China and Hays Recruitment Agency.
Education: Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Birmingham. Here, she was particularly involved in entrepreneurial activities and conducted a range of fascinating research projects.
And at the weekends: Elizabeth spends her weekends reading for leisure, catching up with friends and family, but most importantly - coming up with new and creative reasons not to go to the gym! It is a real talent.
Role with us: Casey joined Scorpio on the Aon Graduate Scheme. She works to support the team on client experience projects, thought leadership initiatives, and internal marketing streams.
Background: Prior to joining Scorpio, Casey completed two placements in Malaysia where she gained deep industry knowledge and developed a passion for wealth management marketing. Whilst at university she was actively involved in the running of the Student Action for Refugees Society, engaging in and organising weekly English classes.
Education: Casey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Nottingham, where she explored her keen interest in the study of metaphysics.
And at the weekends: Casey is usually keeping busy – playing netball, attending a boxing class, or learning Spanish. She is also working towards creating a breakfast blog highlighting London’s best brunch spots – perhaps also using it as a cheeky excuse for lots of Eggs Benedict tastings.
