A Meeting of Minds

A Meeting of Minds is a community brought together by Scorpio Partnership and Owen James Events that gathers key influencers from financial services. It is an opportunity for European private banking and wealth management professionals to meet in a neutral environment to discuss and develop strategies for the ongoing success of their businesses.

We have targeted key figures from the private banking arena to form the Meeting of Minds community and we keep the precise line up constantly under review. We run one-to-one meetings with each participant to establish an understanding of the main issues, concerns and views of the future to create working documents for the group.

Each year we also undertake the Scene Setter Research, a substantive quantitative research exercise. It combines both current and long-term issues, allowing the community to track industry trends over time. An executive summary of the findings is published each year for the benefit of the press and industry non-participants.

The benefits of becoming a community member include strategic insight, active involvement with the industry and networking at the highest level. There is the opportunity to influence industry thinking and gain exclusive access to Community research and detailed information on other members.

Community meetings include a series of boardroom style sessions on a pre-agreed agenda, with the opportunity for open discussion led by objective professional moderators. External speakers are invited to spark debate and encourage fresh and original thought.

There are three levels of participation:

• Knowledge Acquirer (researcher)
• Networker (active participant)
• Pragmatist (solutions driver)

Knowledge Acquirer is the basic membership level, giving access to all qualitative and quantitative research carried out during the year. The Networker level is more involved, participating fully in the biannual community meetings. Both Knowledge Acquirers and Networkers may also choose be a Pragmatist, taking part in ad hoc working parties and proposing solutions to the community.
