Scorpio Partnership was established in 1998 by Sebastian Dovey and Catherine Tillotson. Initial projects drew upon the insight, access and knowledge gained during Sebastian's time as the managing editor of Global Private Banking (an Institutional Investor trade publication covering international wealth management) and Catherine's work as managing editor and senior journalist with Waters Information Services and Institutional Investor. Alejandro Kerschen joined as a third partner in 2003. The company's consultancy business has expanded since our beginning, with a shift in focus from pure research towards using information gained from research as the basis for strategic recommendations. The number of research projects and interviews we carry out with HNW/UHNW individuals and family offices is still growing, and we now undertake more worldwide than any other firm (400 to 500 per year and rising). Recent consultancy projects include advising on financial education for UHNW individuals and the greenfield formation of several private banks. Within the wealth management industry, we are regarded as a leading European specialist in the family office market and intend to continue improving the financial industry's understanding of the needs of HNW/UHNW individuals. | |
